Our Vision Statement
Hastings Baptist Church is a unified family, comprised of all ages, obedient to Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit and united in our love for God and His Word. We keep true to the Word of God and relevant to the culture by engaging personally and corporately in God-honoring worship, effective prayer, and life-changing Bible study.
We make disciples by teaching them to observe all Christ commanded; equipping believers for ministry, personal holiness and love for all people. We imitate the servant-hood of Christ by fervently sharing in the hard work, joys and burdens of our people, and enthusiastically loving one another; all with accountability to one another. We support our leadership in Christ’s work through the unified use of our God-given time, talents and finances.
We actively reach our community and the world through proclaiming and practicing the gospel. We humbly seek justice for others and mercifully love those in need and the spiritually lost by reaching them with the redeeming love of Christ to the glory of God.

LOVE
God, who is love, loved us first and sent His son to die for us to give those who trust in Jesus eternal life with Him. To demonstrate our love for Him, we obey God’s command to love Him with our whole selves. We build meaningful, lasting relationships by loving others sacrificially setting aside our wants and desires, and putting others above ourselves in order to reflect God’s love to all people.

HOLINESS
God is holy, perfect in character and without sin. Through salvation He has called us to be set apart: distinct from the world. Out of reverence to our holy God and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we pursue holiness by imitating Christ, transforming and renewing our minds through biblical disciplines such as Bible study and prayer. In every aspect of our lives we demonstrate His perfect character to bring glory to Christ.

UNITY
God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are one and function in perfect unity. We commit to unity as an active, personal choice to promote harmony and Christ-like maturity within the body of Christ. We value diversity within our church family, and passionately work together to use our God-given talents and abilities. We function as one in obedience toward achieving the goal of being fully committed followers of Christ.

INTEGRITY
God, in His righteousness, is perfectly consistent within Himself. Living a life of integrity matters; by God’s grace and power we commit our hearts and lives to obediently walk in the light of God’s Word. We do this regardless of circumstances, blameless before God, humble before man, consistently striving to be Christ-like.
